Our journal, Theoretical and Applied Mechanics (TAM), celebrates this year its 50th anniversary. The journal was founded in 1975 by Professor Veljko Vujičić. The current publishers are the Serbian Society of Mechanics and Mathematical Institute SANU. The journal is proud of its politics of being free both for the authors and the readers and of its rigorous and efficient per-reviewing process. TAM has been fortunate to have an array of significant members of the Editorial Board, as well as authors, reviewers, and high-quality papers over the course of a half of the century. The Ministry of Science, Technological Development, and Innovation of the Republic of Serbia categorizes TAM as an international journal of M23 category.
